McDonald

Woke up in the middle of a warm Monday afternoon, suppose it is just another Monday, I should've buried in the office, under the endless paper work... I wished there is a McDonald nearby...

When young, we are talkin abt childhood time... There were only a handful of stuffs can get me excited with... toys, cartoons, ice-cream, McDonald... NOT holiday, coz' holiday always comes with lots of homework... I think I hated holiday after exam.

Come to think of the items in the list... I think almost only left with McDonald which have not change much over time... will it ever change in the future? well, maybe... probably will, but I don't know how.

Though this burger restaurant sell a limited list of items at all the branches over the globe, I am never too surprise to see different scene of the restaurants from countries I have been to...

In Aust, it is a place to go when u figured the resource in your pocket is really scarce, and u still wish to eat out instead of butter and jam at home... go McDonald.

In S'pore, the busiest time of the year, when the patrons almost need to dog fight each other for a decent spot in the restaurant, the favorite venue for the students from all grades to prepare for their exam instead of library... go McDonald.

In Europe I heard, the continent on earth where you find human nature is such a 'burden'... especially you have to pay dearly for your meals 'aftermath'... you will appreciate it's 'social responsibility' when you found yourself have to pay a couple of Euro dollar for toilet... For nature call... go McDonald.

In M'sia, probably the only place on earth you can spend more than an average for a meal and wondering why you choose to buy ur burger there instead of the road-side stall... go McDonald?

McDonald seems to provide more than just a place you buy ur meals (let's not be skeptical about it's unhealthy issue etc), it provides more 'value' than 'just food'...

Recently, as we hve got more warm days than ever, I simply love to go McDonald for it's free aircon... Hey, is that another 'social benefit' McDonald provides?

Oh, did I mentioned McDonald provide internet connection too? Long life Ronald, another reason to go McDonald... write a blog about it.

May Day...

May Day... who doesn't know this day? Guess most of us will at least know this day if not loving it and look forward to it on annual basis, it is a holiday after all.

I too remember from the movies or drama I saw... "May Day! May Day! Over!!..." that's almost a typical cockpit scene we will get to see where the pilot yellin to the 'talkie' as airplane or flying jet is in critical condition; bottomline, crashing...

It short, it simply something we human developed to yell when it comes to disaster, and we in need of help from either god or someone else.

So, for this year... just a few days after the entire world took their turn to have this wonderful 'holiday', disaster really striked one after another, first Myammar, then followed by China... a 'memorable' month to remember.

Not goin to comment much about the disasters, however, it is simply amazing to see how some leaders can demostrate to the entire world the kind of barbarian attitude, headstrong and ignorant towards the aids, forgoin 'his fellow countrymen' welfare, even life; while some others demostrate efficiency and what a true leader suppose to do during crisis.

Just like the tsunami @ Indian Ocean abt 4 yrs ago, the hurricane in US not too long after that... we saw the grief after the disaster, the aids and compassion from all over the globe... some people claimed it is the 'retribution' we human get for what we have done to the earth which supported us over generations, whist some expert said it is simply 'inevitable' that the disaster happened, it is ourselves that is to be blamed, caused we were not prepared... sounded like that's the path how the dinoseur walked into extinction and Jurassic ended. Regardless what is it, it touched me to see all the people comes around to help each other during the time like this... whether it'll lead to our extinction or not.

Afterall... time flies, and people will move on, the event will certainly change the perspective of those who survive and those who family or friends who were the victim of it... Deep down, we all know this is not the first, certainly not the end of it...

The day has settled down, and I am sitting alone quietly in my room, recalling what I heard and saw during the day... How do we save the world? Or do we save ourselves?

Memory recall

Took a nap this afternoon, and this lunch conversation came back to me in my dream...

"Do u believe in god?"

"I guess I am."

"Why?"

"Because in any case, if there is no god, I've got nothin to lose to believe there is one; however, if there is one and I did not choose to believe, I will be damned!"

"Haha..."

This is not happening...

New year, 2008... Due to fatigue, I have done something terrible to myself...

By accident, I had my entire blog erased... all the things, my effort, my inspirated moments... are now gone, irreversable, forever!

If there is anythin to learn... "Go to sleep if you are tired, there is no test of limit to it."

Heroes... Part 2

There is this guy called Isaac with the ability to take a glimpse into the future, he then put it in his drawing as a snap shot. The rest of the world, including you and me, will come to want to know how the story leads to the 'outcome' in the picture.

This is just a simple flow of logic, if there is someone tell you, "You are goin to die.", you will simply followed up by "how?", then "what can I do to prevent it from happenin?", that's what the characters do in the story at least.

As audience, we will just sit back and anticipate some tragic to happen in the show that leads to the death, and a normal notion is "okay, he is goin to die, done for the story, move on"... and to the audience surprise, the story did not develop exactly the way we'd expected. Yes, the tragic is inevitable, the victim is remained the victim, but not the 'death' part... the briliant author manage to come out with a way to revive the death, in a quite logical way.

From here I realise, in life, we are often deceived by the snap shot displayed in front of us, the 'picture' did not actually tell us "that's the outcome", but we would happily presume that is the 'outcome', and we stopped there. Only until later, we were then 'surprised' by the alternative outcome, and we wonder why we did not figure that is possible too back then.

We are educated to develop an open mind... thus, we probably want to constantly remind ourselves "There is always room for alternative, as long as we don't shut the door on ourselves and give up the possibility, we might just find it standing there, staring back at us."

Heroes... Part 1

Been a fanatic for the drama "Heroes" recently.

"Heroes", an American drama about people with special abilities, some are considered a 'gift', while some other a 'curse'... with a typical American's favourite pick of story, 'Save the world'.

It is already the end of the 2nd season I have came this far, this show given me a new prospect on 2 things.

In the 'macro' part of this story, I figured the shows reflect very much what is happening in this real world we live in, where people do not really have 'special ability', at least not that I know of. In the story, everybody is tryin to be a hero in big and small way, some just try to be one for their kids, their family; while some, for the world... that's what this 'save the world' is about.

In reality, we try to build a 'better world', in big and also the small way... Goes without sayin, most of us know what we do on daily basis is to at least buildin a 'better world' for ourselves... that's the 'small'... Being the 'big', is a accumulative of all of our 'small' effort with abundant of politicians' policy of the country we live in.

In the show, different people shared different point of view of 'How' to save the world they live, some for preserving, while some opt for reconstruction after a catastrophic destruction... one way or the other, their are all for "save the world", simply different mean, by their means they are classified as 'heroes' and 'villains'... pick ur favourite, pick ur side.

In reality, some people try to make some other people to comply in certain way, in order to achieve their own definition of a 'better world', and guess what, instead of settin our path to have a 'better world', we have news of war and conflicts on media... and maybe that's what "building a better world" is about to some people, who knows? Do you? I don't... Now, in this world we live in, who are the 'heroes' and who's 'villains'? Again, pick ur side.
